What a "One"derful Princess

The day after Christmas we celebrated Ella's 1st birthday with my family. (She turns one on January 8th-yikes!)

She looked absolutely adorable in her pink tutu. Someday she will hate me for it though!

I have never really been into cooking or baking, but just recently I have discovered that it is quite enjoyable. Something that I really wanted to do for Ella was make her cake. It took a few tries, but I thought it turned out pretty good for someone who doesn't bake!

My pretty princess!

I have no idea what she is doing here. Other than looking cute, of course:)

Ella did fabulous with her cake. She didn't even make a mess! That's my girl!

Family Christmas Fun

After the kids opened their presents at our house on Christmas Eve we headed to Cody's parents house for more present opening, eating, talking, playing, and of course, church. It was a wonderful Christmas Eve Day.

Kyler is listening intently to what Grandma Penny has to say!

On Christmas morning we woke up early and headed to my parents house.

An Unexpected Zoo Trip

Yesterday the weather was beautiful here in good ole' KS so we decided that we should get the kids out and do something fun. We had intended on going to Exploration Place, however, it was closed. So what is the next best thing? The zoo of course! We all had a great time walking around the zoo and checking out the animals.

It isn't very often that you get to enjoy the zoo in December. Thanks kids for a wonderful day!

Christmas Eve Morning

This year Santa came to our house on Christmas Eve.

It took some special doing and lots of letters to Santa, but I finally convinced him to come to our house on Christmas Eve because we would be heading out of town early on Christmas Day. I guess I gave a pretty convincing argument because he agreed:)

Thanks Santa!

Isn't he a handsome young man! I could seriously kiss those cheeks ALL DAY LONG!!

Deegan's Baptism

A couple of weeks ago we had a Baptism for Baby Deegan in Nebraska. It was wonderful to be surrounded by family for such a joyous occasion, but holy smokes was it cold! The temperature gauge on the car said -2!! I'm pretty sure we all about froze to death!

I feel very blessed to, not only be Deegan's favorite Aunt :), but also his Godparent. Thank you Jacki and Chris for asking us to play such an important role in Deegan's life.

This was the sign on the door when we went for breakfast! Remember it was -2 outside!

It's All Good

Just wanted to let you all know that the CT scan came back and it showed "No Abnormalities!"

YEAH! Woo-Hoo! and Yipee!

The Dr said that if I continue to have headaches they will do an MRI because apparently CT scans don't show everything.

I am still having headaches so when I go back to the Dr in January I will probably have an MRI scheduled.

Thank you all for your continued thoughts and prayers. You guys are seriously the greatest!

My Secret

I have a secret.

Something that very few people know about.

I'm not sure why I haven't talked about it on my blog. My blog is my release of sorts. Writing makes me feel better. I think part of me is scared. Part of me is nervous. And part of me thinks I'm just being silly.

So here goes, my secret is, last Friday I had a CT scan of my brain. I have been having really bad headaches for the last month or so and I decided it was time to tell the Dr about it. He scheduled a CT scan right away.

I am still waiting on the results. I hate waiting. Waiting is the hardest part.

Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers as we wait for the results.

Please pray that my headaches are just sinus related issues and nothing more.

Please pray that the results will be in today! I am so sick of the waiting!

I'm The Mad Hatter!

I didn't realize I was so vocal about my hair loss, but apparently those close to me picked up on it, because today I received another stocking cap in the mail!

This one is from one of my good friends, Shawna.

When I opened the mail and read the note I cried. Yes, I'm a little emotional. Leave me alone!

It's pink, because everyone knows that I LOVE the color pink.

On the front of the cap it says, "Cancer Sucks" because we all know that Cancer Totally Sucks Ass!!
Close up of my awesome new cap.

A Bomb

This is why we use cloth diapers most of the time:

Yes, her disposable diaper exploded in the middle of the night. We only use disposables at night time because I THOUGHT they would be more absorbant. I am currently rethinking this decision and looking for a good overnight cloth diaper.
Those little crystal type balls are Sodium Polyacrylate. This chemical can cause skin irritations and severe allergic reactions including vomiting, staph infections, and fever.

Luckily, it seemed to bother me more than her!

Happy Holidays

I would have liked to mail each and every one of you a Christmas card, but since I don't have your addresses, this will have to do.

Happy Holidays from our blog to yours.

Rub-A-Dub Dub...

...my two babies are in the tub.

Together!

Lately we've been giving the kids baths together, mainly to save time, but it saves money too.

They both throughly enjoy taking baths together. I just realized the other night, that I had NO pictures of this fun little adventure.

Cute aren't they?!

Ella's newest trick is raspberry blowing. If you look close you can see her lips pinched together. Daddy taught her that new trick! Thanks Dad!

Kyler likes to lay on his tummy in the bathtub. Good thing he's skinny or Ella wouldn't have any room!

She is so happy to be in the tub, that she doesn't even care that the water is getting cold!

Time to get out.
Cheesy little munchkins!

Less Hair=New Hat

As you can see in the picture below, my hair is thinning. Like really thinning. I have always had thick hair, so losing my hair has been a little hard on me.

Imagine my surprise when I got the mail yesterday and this wonderful hat was waiting for me! My 2nd cousin, Debbie, reads my blog and she could tell that the hair loss bothered me so she knitted (or possibly crocheted!) this awesome stocking cap for me.

The picture below isn't the best, so just look at the hat, not at me! I've never been a huge hat wearer, but I absolutely LOVE this one.

Thank you so much Debbie!

My Gingerbread Man

I have always wanted to make a Gingerbread House with Kyler, but felt he was just to young.

This year I felt he was old enough to tackle the task of a Gingerbread House. I am so glad that I did this with him. He LOVED it. He had so much fun decorating and eating the house. The joy on his face was priceless!

Posing with his Gingerbread House box.

Look at all these pieces Mom!

I love decorating my house!

The finished product! Look at that smile on his face! He was so proud of himself.

Almost Wordless Wednesday

This morning Kyler BEGGED to play outside in the snow. After much begging I finally gave in. I got him all bundled up and he played outside for about 20 minutes. I am pretty sure being outside was the highlight of his week!
He looks a little mad here because I won't stop taking his picture!

Nothing, and I mean nothing, is safe in our house!

She looks so proud of herself though, how could I possibly get mad!

11 Months Old Today

Happy 11 month birthday Ella Grace!

I can't believe in one more month you will be a one year old!

My how time flies when you are keeping mommy on her toes!

Currently you can say mama, dada, ball, hi and bye.

You wave and blow kisses on cue.

You weigh 21.8 lbs and are 30 inches long.

You hate veggies but will eat almost any type of fruit I put in front of you. (Daddy says you are going to be like your mama and have a sweet tooth. He's probably right-sorry Ella.)

You love your bottles and sippy cups and would drink from those all day if I let you.

You have mastered the straw, but would prefer your bottle.

You love to get into the fridge and pull things out.

You hate to have your diaper changed and your clothes change. Probably because it means you have to sit still for a few seconds!

Everything you touch automatically goes into your mouth first. You must taste it before you can play with it!

You love your big brother very much. You light up when you see him. Then you pull his hair and all is good in the brotherly/sisterly love world.

Even though you can walk you still love mommy or daddy to hold you.

When I tell you I love you, you automatically blow kisses.

You, my dear Ella, are one amazing girl. I can not imagine my life without you. Thank you for keeping us on our toes these past 11 months. I love you.

One of your favorite things to do is play with your Daddy and big brother.

This is also one of your favorite things to do. No, not play with Kyler. Eat the letters from the dry erase board. Yeah, apparently they taste delicious.

This is what you do when you are tired and cranky and mommy won't pick you up.

At one point you were actually in the box. Then you decided that sitting on it was way more fun!

Kyler took this picture of you and even though it's not the best, I thought he did pretty good for a 3 year old!

Slipping and Sliding

Yesterday I brought out the big guns.

Yep, the Little Tikes slide. I didn't know how Ella would do with the slide, but she LOVED it!

She struggled a little with going up the stairs on the slide, but had a grand time going up the slide part! Silly girl.

I have to admit, this little lady amazes me EVERY.SINGLE.DAY by what she can do. Sometimes I just sit and watch her. Totally in awe at what an amazing little gal she is.

Thank you Ella for being you. I love you.

Ella going UP the slide!
Yes, her eyes really are THAT blue! Gorgeous aren't they!

She loved sliding down the slide, but she kept wanting to turn over and go down on her tummy!

Good thing she has HUGE feet. The better to grip the slide with! Just like a little monkey!
