Pretty Bows for a Pretty Girl

Who loves her new hair bow?? I do, I do mommy.

I ordered Ella some pretty infant headbands for her head/hair this week and they finally came this weekend! I was so excited that I started pulling out dresses to see what outfits the bows would go with! I didn't get to do these fun, frilly things with Kyler so I am really enjoying this! I have the urge to buy headbands that match all of the clothes in her closet. I would actually only have to buy pink or purple so it probably wouldn't cost all that much! When Kyler walked in and saw Ella in a dress with a bow on her head, he said, "Oh, Ella pretty mama." Isn't he a sweet big brother! Then he proceeded to take the bow off of Ella's head and put it on his head. Well, you were sweet for a second there Kyler:)

Mommy and Ella

Since Ella is growing so fast I thought I had better get some use out of the sling. She wasn't so into it this time and her head kept falling out. Now that I think about it, maybe I didn't have her in there very well! I would have cried too! She is sleeping a little more at night, which is definitely good news for me! She is waking up about 3 times a night, which is sooooo much better then what she was doing!
This week Cody had to head to Arizona for work so my mom came down this week and helped me out. I wouldn't have made it through the week without my wonderful mother! Thank you mommy:)
I decided that since Cody actually got several full nights of sleep while he was gone he was going to stay up with Ella and transition her into her crib and I was going straight to bed! The first night he was up with her for quite awhile but the second night it didn't take near as much time, and.... he got her to take a binkie! That has really helped. Some day I will probably regret giving her a binkie, but night now it's a lifesaver. She doesn't have it totally figured out but we're getting there. When I put it in her mouth she just kind of looks at me like where's the milk mama! Sorry dear, there's no food in there.

1 Month Check Up

Ella had her 1 Month Well Child Visit today and she has grown so much! She currently weighs 10 lbs 7 oz (75% ile) and is 22 inches long (77%ile). I didn't think she had grown that much so I made them weigh her again because I just didn't believe it! Now if we can just get her to sleep a little longer at night everyone will be happy. If anyone has any tips on how to get her to sleep longer let me know-she is currently still up every two hours to nurse. We are all exhausted! I think it would help if she would take a pacifier but so far we can't convince her that binkies are good things. Any tips those of you with binky loving babies?? Other than not sleeping everything is going good. She is a major cuddler so it is hard not to hold her all day long-however Kyler sometimes opposes to mommy holding sis and not him so we are trying to find a happy medium. Having two little ones is a whole new world-to those of with twins-how in the world did you do it?? Bless your hearts is all I have to say!

Love to Read

At our house we LOVE books! Kyler has more books then we will probably ever read, and I just ordered more through Scholastic! I think that reading is so important to their development so we have been reading to Kyler and Ella since they were in my tummy. All that reading has apparently rubbed off because the other night Kyler went and got a book out of his room and was "reading" it to Ella. It was so cute.
