5 Years Already

Today Daddy and I are celebrating our 5 year anniversary. It seems crazy to think that we have been married for 5 years and have two kids. Cody and I actually met 8 years ago in college. It's actually kind of a funny story. Probably not one that I will tell my kids however! You see, Cody and I met at a bar. One of his friends picked me out of the crowd for him to go and hit on. I took one look at him and said, "Are you even old enough to be here?" (He's a little younger than me) Apparently that was a bit of a turn off for him and he didn't talk to me the rest of the summer. When school started up he started dating some chic on his dorm floor, apparently that was the kick in the butt that I needed, because suddenly he was what I wanted! A week later they broke up and we started dating. I won't say the past 8 years have been easy, but they have been wonderful. I am so very lucky to have married my best friend. Thank you Daddy for a wonderful 5 years of marriage. I look forward to many more years with you.

Good Friends Are Like Good Wine

Cheralyn and Ella
Brian and Ella-Brian refused to let me take his picture. I got a few, however, he requested that I not put them on the blog. I think he is afraid he might get an absurd amount of phone calls on account of his good looks.

Some of you may not know this, but Daddy and I are huge fans of WINE! We love wine. In fact, Daddy, being the microbiologist that he is, even knows how to make wine. That has come in very handy! For my birthday dinner without kids we went to eat at a place called House of Tricks. I know, it sounds like a porn store or something, but it is in fact a fancy little wine bar. We were able to enjoy some adult conversation, good food, and some great wine. I have a hard time just sitting down and enjoying a meal. I like to sit, eat, and get the heck out of there. We ended up hanging out at the restaurant for several hours, just chatting and enjoying the atmosphere. It was so great to catch up with our friends and relax. Thank you Brian and Cheralyn for a wonderful trip.

We Are Back!

Hello, everyone. I am back to Bloggywood (like that McMommy?!:) I soooo missed you all! I was able to check up on a few blogs while I was gone, I didn't have time to comment or blog myself so hopefully I can get caught up on that today.

Thank you everyone for your wonderful suggestions on how to entertain little ones on plane rides. Both did wonderful on the plane. Kyler was a little naughty while we were in the airport waiting for the plane, but once we got on the plane he was great. Thank heavens for suckers!

Kyler and his new girl, Emily

In Arizona we were lucky enough to be able to go out to dinner with our friends while their girls watched Kyler. I think Kyler would have stayed with the girls all night if we would have let him. He especially loved Emily. Kyler already has a type! How sad is that! All of his "girlfriends" are always blonde. What can I say, the kid has good taste:)

For my birthday we took the kids to Enchanted Island Amusement Park. Kyler had a blast riding on the rides (even though it was 100 degrees).

Here I come Daddy. Make sure you catch me!

Ella in her cute little bikini. This is size 6-9 months and I'm pretty sure it's not going to fit for much longer.

After the Park we headed back to our hotel to play in the water park. Kyler loved the little kids pool, Mama loved the Lazy River! Ella and I could have stayed on that all day long. Sorry no pics of that-that would have required one of mama in a swimsuit and that is soooo not happening!

For dinner we headed to the Hard Rock Cafe. That is where the real fun started! Kyler was grouchy because he had not had a nap so I should have known it was going to be rough. He refused to sit down and he just kept jumping on the seat, when we told him to sit he screamed at the top of his lungs-talk about getting nasty looks!-to entertain him I took him up to the gift shop area, then he saw the front door and he started running for it-luckily I screamed STOP and he did-then our food came (finally) so we went to eat and he decided that crawling underneath the table was way more fun then actually eating at the table. Daddy and I shoveled our food in and decided it was time to get the hell out of there so Daddy tried to pick up Kyler and ended up spilling his water-EVERYWHERE! It was a very embarrassing dinner! Good thing we will never see those people again huh! See, I told you he wouldn't sit down!

Maybe Another Reason

I have to admit, I wasn't totally honest with you when I said that we were going to Arizona just to see friends and for Cody's work. We are also going to celebrate my birthday. This year is a big one. You see, it's my 30th. I have been dreading this since I turned 26 and realized that I was closer to 30 than to 20.
I know that everybody has to do it, I get that, I'm just having a really hard time with it for some reason. Daddy was afraid that if I had to stay at home, alone, with the kids, that I would sink into a deep depression or something. He just didn't understand that I would have all my bloggy friends with me to share in the pain! So wish me luck on Wednesday as I celebrate the big 3-0:)

I will try to blog about all of the fun and exciting things we do on our trip. If I don't have a chance though, be prepared for MANY, MANY updates when we get back. We are sure to have FUN, FUN, FUN on our trip.

Mommy and Me Day

Check out the rain puddles in the background. Kyler has such an aversion to mud that I practically had to carry him back to the playground equipment after he would go down a slide.
Yep, I had to carry him to this and place him on it because he would not walk in the mud!

Lately Kyler has not been feeling the mommy love. I'm not doing it on purpose, but I have just been so busy with planning bridal showers, getting ready for graduate school (YIKES!), planning for vacation, blogging-hehehe, and taking care of Ella that I just haven't been devoting as much time to him as I wish I could. So today we had a mommy and Kyler day. We went to Walmart and he got to pick out a new bye-bye (car), we ate at the "Moose Place" (Rib Crib), ran to the mall to find mommy some pants (not so fun for either of us!), played at the park, then ended the day with a Sonic run. We both had a great time just hanging out with each other. I love my little girl to pieces but I really miss just hangin' with my little man. I am so glad that we got to spend this time together. Thanks Kyler for such a wonderful day.

Bridal Shower Fun

Avery and Ella playing on the floor. Avery is 7 months old and Ella is 4 months old. They played pretty well together until Avery starting making long noises. Then Ella got this really sad look on her face and started crying.

Adriane holding Avery and Ella. I think Avery is trying to rub Ella's budda belly!

Mommy and Adriane

This weekend Ella and I attended a Bridal Shower for my friend, Adriane. This is the 2nd of, I think, 7 showers! It was nice to get caught up with friends that I hadn't seen in such a long time. Adriane ended up getting some wonderful gifts and I do believe that after every so many years of being married you should be allowed to have another bridal shower so you can get all new stuff:)

After the shower we met my dad at Bruff's (you know I love those chedder cheese balls!!) and he was able to get in some major cuddle time with Miss Ella. Between Kyler always wanting Grandpa to play with him and mom always wanting to hold Ella, Grandpa NEVER gets his cuddles in. In fact, I think these were the first pictures I have of Grandpa holding Ella.

How happy does Grandpa look!?

Hot, Hot, Hot

Ok, so in a little more than a day we will be boarding a plane with two little ones and flying to the wonderfully hotter then hell state of Arizona. Why Arizona at the end of May you ask? Well, Daddy has some work to take care of and while he is working the kids and I will get to spend some time with our friends that live down there. We haven't visited them since last year at this time so I am excited to see them and their three girls. Last year Kyler had a blast playing (and flirting!) with their girls.
So this is where you guys come in, I am needing some advice. How in the world am I going to travel with two little ones. Yes Daddy will be there. And yes Daddy is a wonderful help, but... I am still totally freaked out! Kyler has flown several times and he did pretty good. I have packed up some brand new toys for Kyler, a brand new movie to watch, and some yummy snacks for him. Does anyone have any other suggestions for keeping a 2 year old entertained on a rather long plane ride?
