Making Daddy Proud

This is how Ella remembered Daddy while he was away...

Ella, you are WAY to young to be looking at those!

And yes she has a fridge clip thingy in her mouth. Oddly enough, she loves them!

That's better. Check out the cars.

Even better! Check out the clothes. Hey, clothes are clothes. Even if they are camo.

Anyone know what catalog she is looking at? Here's a hint: it's not mine!

Yep, she is "looking" at a Cabela's catalog. I think I will try giving her J Crew catalog next time!

Prayer Request

I have a couple of prayer requests for all of you fabulous pray-ers out there.

The first-My sister is due today with their first baby. I am so excited to be an Aunt. I also can't wait to meet this gorgeous little boy. Please pray that she has the baby by Saturday (we will be in the KC area and are hoping to meet the baby then) also pray that her labor will be uneventful and that everything will go well. We are thinking of you Jacki.

The Second-My mother fell the other day when she was leaving work (yes she is a bit of a klutz) and she got pretty banged up. She has some issues with blood clots and we are afraid that the fall either caused a blood clot or the blood clot caused a fall. We're not sure. She had a ultrasound on her leg the other day and we are anxiously awaiting the results. Please pray that there is no blood clot and that she is just clumsy!

The Third-My mother in law was admitted to the hospital last night for chest pains. She has been having chest pains on and off for the last week or so and last night it got to be to much for her. They ran some tests last night and are running some more today. Please pray that everything turns out ok and whatever is causing the chest pains can be fixed quickly and easily.

The Fourth and Last-Cody is in Minnesota for the week and I am home, alone, with the kids. Please pray that my nausea goes away and that Cody comes home safe.

The Swap

My good blogger friend, Wendi, just hosted a Favorite Things Swap. When I first read about it, I wasn't going to do it. I was going through treatment and just didn't think I would have the energy.

Then Wendi needed one more swapper. I decided I could do it. I am so glad that I did.

Danielle sent me the most wonderful package with the most wonderful gifts. She even got creative and put little riddles on all the packages. I know some of you read her blog and tried to guess what my gifts were. So without further ado, here are the answers:

1) Go Green with Red. Three Reusable Target bags-I am so excited to use these. Now I just have to remember to bring them!

2) Satisfy your hunger. Snickers- Is it bad that these are all gone?

3) Tasty little men. EL Fudge Cookies-These too? I am totally blaming Kyler. (See below)
4) The trees will Thank you. Notebook-I love notebooks.

5) Something that will hold a moment in time. "Inspire" Picture frame -I already have our family picture in it.

6) A keeper of random thoughts. Journal-This will come in handy on those days when I am to sick to get out of bed.

7) This when combined with a glass of wine and a bubble bath equals the perfect evening. Glade Scented Oil Candle-So will this!

8) Wash the germs away. Dial Soap-I love soap. I hate germies!

9) This is a life saver for your clothes. Stain Stick-How did you know that we go through stain stick like crazy?

10) A gift for you to give. Awesome Homemade cards-OMG I love these. I wish I could make cards half as cute as these! They are fabulous.

Thank you, thank you Danielle for all of these wonderful gifts. They truly made my day.

Feeling the Love

Before I started treatment, I really wanted a good family picture. We have a few, but no really good ones. It was something that was important to me and my husband lovingly obliged. Here is the proof:

A Challenge For You

I am not a big fan of saving money.

Spending money? Yes.

Saving money? Not so much.

I love to buy crap. Little things that I don't really need but absolutely must have. You know, like those Halloween kitchen towels that could just change my life. Or another dress for Ella. Or one more picture frame. Yes, I am that mom. The one who can't stop spending.

Since being sick I have had a lot of down time and a lot of time to think. I am going to challenge myself, and all of you guys if you want to participate, to cut back on the little things.

Every Monday I will post how I saved my family money this week. It doesn't have to be much. Just some. This is going be a huge chore for me. Spending money is just a really bad habit of mine, but with two birthdays and Christmas right around the corner I am going to have to cut back.

So, here is how I saved money this week:
1. I sent Cody to the grocery store. Trust me. This saved us big!
2. I cancelled the extras on our phone-nobody calls us anyway!
3. I cancelled the extras on the cable. I just can't cancel the cable and DVR quite yet. I still love them.

Future Saving Money Goals:
1. See about combining cell phone packages.

8 1/2 months

Dear Ella,
Today you turned 8 and a half months.

The last two months have been a bit of a whirlwind for your mommy.

I apologize for not spending as much time with you or not being able to breastfeed you any more. I am still sad about that.

You currently have 7 teeth with one more on the way. 4 on the top and 3 (almost 4) on the bottom.

You are taking a bottle from me better and you love mommy to feed you food.

I weighed you today and realized how much you love your food. You weighed 21 pounds! Holy smokes! Where has my little baby gone?

I figured with all that crawling and moving you are doing that you would not have gained so much weight.

I was wrong! You are a chunk! But a gorgeous chunk.

You are seriously one of the prettiest babies I have ever seen (so I am a little biased).

You have the most gorgeous blue eyes and prettiest brown, curly hair. I absolutely adore your hair. I love all the curls.

I love staring at you and watching you discover things.

You find wonderment in the smallest things. I need to take a little lesson from you.

Thank you Ella Grace for the last 8 and a half months. I love you more then any other little girl in the whole wide world.
