If you look closely, there is a monkey on the other side of the glass. When I put Ella up on the ledge, the monkey came over and sat down beside her. It totally freaked her out! Ella hanging out in the jungle!
Hi mommy! I love the zoo!
Mommy, what is Daddy doing at the zoo?:)
I love penguins! Can we take him home with us?
This penguin is almost as big as me!
These penguins rock Mama!
Last week, after my treatment, I decided to take the kids to the zoo. I didn't know if I would be able to handle it or not, but I knew I wanted to try.
One of my favorite things about being a mommy is being able to do things with my children. We don't have any family that is extremely close by and the family that is close, works, so it is usually just me. I don't have family members that live right down the street that can watch my kids when I need them too. Although that would be nice, I am usually on my own.
So I usually just suck it up and do it. You do what you gotta do, right?
So that is why when a beautiful day presented itself, I decided to take advantage of it. I would deal with the consequences later.
The weather was gorgeous.
The kids were well behaved.
The animals were out and about.
It was awesome.
Until later that day. Mommy was beat! I was exhausted. So exhausted that I was nauseous for two days.
Yes, I enjoy spending time with my beautiful children.
Yes, I enjoy doing things that make them happy.
However, I also need to remember that mommy can't over do it.
Thank you guys for a wonderful day at the zoo, however, I think next time we will have to make the zoo trip a bit shorter!
The other night Kyler got into the closet with the blankets and had a good ole' time pulling them all out and playing in them. For some reason, he kept calling the blankets his "Birthday Party."
Our zoo trip-more on that tomorrow.
What a handsome young man he is! I think he is deep in thought here!
Yep, he is gorgeous!
Today you turn 3 years old. I am excited, yet at the same time sad. I am excited because this is a big milestone for you. I am sad because this means that my little man is growing up.
When you turned 1, I was happy. So many new milestones were going to be reached and I was excited for you.
When you turned 2, I cried. You no longer needed me as much and you wanted to do EVERYTHING yourself.
And now, here we are, you are turning 3. You technically aren't three until 10:58PM and not one minute sooner young man! I am pretty sure you still need me, although maybe not as much as I would like.
You are turning into a wonderful young man. You are one of the sweetest little boys I know.
At least to me. To your sissy, not so much. But we're working on that and you are getting better!
My favorite thing that you do is when you come up to me, give me a huge hug and say, "I love you sooooo much Mama." The first few times you did this I had tears in my eyes. Now I just hug you back and tell you how much I love you.
I seriously don't know what I would do without you. You are my best bud and I love you more then life itself. Please don't ever change and don't you ever stop being a Mama's boy.
I love you monster man.
Happy 3rd Birthday.
PS Please tell me that you are NOW ready to be potty trained!
I've been thinking all weekend about what I have done to save money lately and honestly I couldn't really come up with much.
I have been better about not spending so much money. At least on crap.
I have also been using Ella's 6 month dresses as tops and putting them with a pair of jeans. It actually looks pretty cute.
We have also been trying to win the Monopoly game at McDonald's so every day, on work's dime, Cody has been going to McDonald's for lunch so that we can get some game pieces. So far though, we aren't winners:(
Since it has been so nice here I have been putting some clothes outside to dry. Especially the cloth diapers. This really helps to freshen them up and the sun is a natural bleaching agent so it whitens up the diapers also.
For Halloween Grandma and Grandpa Snyder joined us for trick or treating. We just went around our little neighborhood and got candy. Kyler was really into it this year and he had a blast. Instead of saying trick or treat though, he would say Happy Halloween. Whatever. It worked!
